Weight Loss Surgery is proud to announce that Kettering Medical Center and Kettering Medical Center - Sycamore both have been named an American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence (BSCOE).

Only hospitals that provide the very best in bariatric patient care and meet the stringent BSCOE criteria are granted this award.

The designation recognizes both KMC and KMC-Sycamore for their experienced surgeons, specialized facilities, comprehensive program, and dedication to outstanding patient care. The honor is also based on a careful study of patient outcomes as measured by post-surgery recovery and access to long-term follow-up care.

This prestigious achievement culminates a two-year evaluation process that included documentation, site inspections, and interviews to assess:

• Staff credentials and ongoing training
• Program volume and lifetime and recent experience
  of surgeons
• Program director, dedicated program staff, and hospital support staff
• Specialized facilities such as beds, bathrooms, operating tables, and surgical equipment
• Standardized processes for surgery and related care
• Dedication to long-term follow-up care, including patient support groups and outcome tracking
